Antivirus is good in removing file viruses. But the modern malware are fileless. Virus simply adds its link to your browser and you will see a lot of pop-up ads, redirects, notifications, etc. Also, malware uses the legitimate programs to download and execute malicious code. (In reply to comment #17) If you delete the file, with Firefox open, before the scan finishes I believe that it will recreate the problem.
